J.V.M Public School is tucked away in Niti Khand 1, which is a very busy residential part of Indirapuram. You have got high-rise apartments looking down on us from every side. The school occupies Plot No. 1044, and it is a compact building that makes use of every inch of space we have. In the mornings, the street outside is a mess of rickshaws and parents dropping off their kids, but it settles down once the gate closes. We have a small patch of ground where the kids do their morning exercises, though it gets quite crowded if everyone is out at once. The classrooms are painted in bright colors, but you can see where the chairs have bumped against the walls over the years. We spend a lot of time in the office handling the daily phone calls and sorting out the bus routes. It is a local place, so most of the staff live nearby and walk to work. There is always the sound of a nearby construction site or someone honking in the lane, but that is just Indirapuram for you. We keep the fans running at full speed during the summer, and the hallways are usually filled with the smell of lunch boxes around noon. It is a straightforward, busy school where we just focus on getting through the lessons and making sure everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.
