Gurukul -The School

Gurukul -The School is situated out on Nh-24, near the 28Kms Delhi Milestone, not too far from the Dasna Railway Crossing. Being near the highway means we are easy to find, though it can get a bit loud with the traffic passing by. The campus is quite large because we have more room out here than we would in the middle of the city. We have a lot of trees and open patches of ground. The walk from the main gate to the buildings takes a minute or two. The school has a bit of an older feel in some parts, while other areas are more recent additions. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything like that; the kids just wear what’s required and get to work. The staffroom is always full of stacks of homework waiting to be marked. We have a lot of students who commute from the surrounding areas, so the bus schedule is a big part of our daily life. Sometimes the trains at the crossing cause a bit of a delay for some of us, but we’re used to it by now. It’s a straightforward environment where the main focus is just getting through the curriculum. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations or big speeches. It’s just a place for learning and growing up, and we think that’s enough. We try to keep the grounds tidy, but with so many kids, there is always a stray wrapper or two that needs picking up.
