Green Land Convent School

Being on the first floor here at J-270 in Patel Nagar means we see everything happening on the street. Ghaziabad is always noisy and our school is right in the middle of it. The stairs can be a bit steep for the little ones but they get used to it fast. We have our classrooms set up along the corridor and when the windows are open you can smell the local food stalls nearby. It’s a bit cramped when parents come to pick up their children at the end of the day but we manage. The 201003 area is quite busy and finding a parking spot outside J-270 is almost impossible some days. Inside Green Land Convent School, we just focus on the lessons. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint soon, maybe over the next break. We have a small office where we keep all the files and a stack of old notebooks. It’s not a fancy setup but it’s where we spend our whole day. The bell we use is loud enough that even the shops downstairs can hear it. Most of the teachers have been coming here for years and we know the families in the neighborhood well. It’s just a regular local school trying to get through the syllabus. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just keep going with the windows open.
