Garg Sarees Palace

You can find us at B/123 in Sector-2, Vaishali. It’s a decent sized space where we keep our collection of sarees for everyone to see. We aren't in the biggest market area, but it’s a quiet enough corner for people to come and shop without dealing with too much rush. We’ve been operating from this same address for a good amount of time now. People usually come in when there is a big function in the family coming up. We spend most of our day unfolding and then refolding long pieces of fabric. It’s a bit of a repetitive job but it’s what we know how to do. The lighting inside is okay, though we added some extra bulbs last year so people could see the colors a bit better. Some days are very quiet and we just sit and wait for someone to walk in. Other days, like during the festival season, it’s a total mess in here. We try to keep up with what the ladies are wearing these days. My son helps me with the accounts because I’m not very good with all the computer stuff. We just use a basic register for most things. The building itself is quite old but it stays surprisingly cool in the summer which is nice for us. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. If someone likes what they buy, they usually tell their sister or neighbor. That’s how we’ve always done it. It’s just a simple saree shop.
