Being right in the middle of a vegetable market means our day at Freshofast Agro Private Limited starts way before the sun is even up. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and there is always mud or dust around the trucks. We don't have a shiny office with air conditioning that works all the time. Our space is practical and built for speed. We deal with farmers and loaders every single day. There’s a lot of shouting and haggling involved in this business because that's just how the mandi works. We try to keep things organized but sometimes it’s just a total mess of wooden crates and heavy trucks. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or fancy brochures. We just want to get the fresh produce from the farm to the market as quickly as humanly possible. Sometimes the trucks break down on the highway or the rain ruins a whole batch, and that’s just a bad day at the office for us. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the same people every morning. It’s a tough life but it keeps us very busy. Being in Sahibabad gives us a good link to the rest of the region's food supply. We just keep our heads down and do the work as it comes.
