Durga Departmental Store

Our shop, Durga Departmental Store, is located in the Royal Arcade over in Kaushambi. Being in K-1 of the Jaipuria Enclave means we see a lot of the same faces every single day. Most people living in the apartments nearby come down to us when they realize they ran out of milk or sugar in the middle of cooking. The arcade itself is a busy place with people coming and going for different errands. We try to keep the shelves organized, but with so many different items like snacks, cleaning supplies, and pulses, it usually gets a bit messy by the evening. I keep a notebook to track what is running low so I can order more. Ghaziabad can get quite dusty, so we are constantly wiping down the jars and packets. It’s not a very big store, but we make use of every corner and even the space behind the counter is filled up. Sentence lengths here vary because sometimes I’m just busy thinking about the next delivery. We don't really have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. Customers usually just tell us what they want and we pick it out for them. It saves time when the shop gets full. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and the routine has become second nature. We just focus on keeping the local families stocked up with their basics and making sure we are here when they need something.
