Dhuruve Saree Sansar

Dhuruve Saree Sansar is right there by the Ghanta Ghar in the Purani Musafi area. Being near the clock tower means there is never a quiet moment. There’s always the sound of traffic and people talking outside. Our shop is a bit old-fashioned. We haven't changed much over the years. We like the way things are. We have sarees piled up on the counters and tucked into every shelf we could build. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything. We don't use any fancy machines to track our stock. We just know what we have by looking at the shelves. The building itself has some character, even if the walls could use a bit of paint. We’ve seen many shops come and go around the Ghanta Ghar, but we’ve managed to stay put. People come from all over the city to this market. It’s a central spot. We don't do any big promotions or sales. We just sell sarees at the price we think is right. Sometimes we have a helper come in on Saturdays when it gets really crowded. The rest of the time, we just manage on our own. It’s a simple business. We like the energy of the old market. Every day is a bit different, but the sarees are always there. We just keep doing what we’ve been doing for years.
