You can find the Delhi Institute Of Education in Kaushambi. We are located at Neelam Vihar, Sector 14, number 78. It’s a residential-feeling area, which makes it feel a bit more relaxed than a city center. We have classrooms that aren't very big, but they get the job done. The chairs are the basic plastic kind, and the whiteboards have some stains that won't come off. It’s a place for learning, plain and simple. We started out with just a couple of rooms and a few students from the neighborhood. Now we have people coming from further away. The staff here are locals. We walk to work or take the rickshaw. We know the guy who sells tea at the corner. Most of our days are spent talking to students about their future and trying to help them understand the lessons. It isn't a high-pressure environment. We want people to feel okay about asking questions. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird rattling noise, but we just give it a tap and it settles down. We don't have a big budget for decorations, so the walls are mostly covered in student work and old calendars. It feels like home to us. We just keep our heads down and focus on the teaching. Everyone knows everyone else here, and that is how we like it.
