Our office is over in Sector 36 of Noida, inside a regular residential block at C 2/71. It is a quiet spot, which is good because we spend most of our time reading and looking through legal documents and papers. The Association For The Promotion Of Legal Knowledge started because we saw a lot of people struggling to understand basic rules and laws that affect their lives. We aren't a big law firm with fancy suits or anything like that. We are more like a small group that gathers information and shares it with those who need it. We have stacks of books and folders everywhere in the office. Most days are spent researching or answering letters from people who need a bit of clarity on a legal point. It is slow work sometimes, and it requires a lot of patience. We don't use a lot of fancy technology, just the basics like a printer and a couple of computers to get by. The area around Sector 36 is mostly families and houses, so it is a peaceful place to work during the day. We take our time with things because legal stuff shouldn't be rushed or handled carelessly. There is no corporate ladder here to climb. We just sit around the table and talk about what needs to be done next. It is about making sure the information we provide is right and easy to follow.
