Dayaram General Store

Dayaram General Store is over at B-16 in the Janak Puri Market. This is in the Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad. We’ve been operating out of this market for a long time now. The market itself is always humming with people looking for different things. Our shop is just one of the many here, but we have our regular customers who come to us for their weekly supplies. We stock everything from soap to pulses. It’s not a very big shop, so we have to use every bit of space we have. You might see boxes stacked up near the entrance sometimes. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that have been around for years. They make a bit of noise, but they keep the air moving. Dealing with people all day is interesting. You meet all sorts of folks in Sahibabad. We don't use a computer for our work, we just do the math in our heads or on a scrap of paper. It’s how I learned to do it, and it works fine. The Janak Puri Market can get very crowded on the weekends, making it hard to even walk, but that’s just part of being in a busy market. We like the energy of the place. We just want to keep our shelves stocked so people can find what they need. That’s about all there is to say about us.
