The Craft Creators

Down in Nanka Garhi, Dasna, we have our workspace at Khasra No 358. We call ourselves The Craft Creators, but mostly we are just a group of people who like to build things. It’s not a very quiet place because there is always some sawing or hammering going on. The air usually smells like sawdust or whatever finish we are using that day. We started out small and stayed that way because it's easier to keep track of the quality when you're the one actually holding the tools. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. Most of our work is spread out on big wooden tables or leaning against the walls. We get a lot of people asking how we make certain things, and usually, the answer is just a lot of patience and some basic hand tools. Being in Dasna means we are a bit away from the main city rush, which is nice for focusing on the work. We don't follow a strict corporate schedule; if a job needs staying late, we stay until it's done. If it's a slow Tuesday, we might just sit and talk about new designs over tea. It’s a very hands-on environment. Every piece that leaves here has been touched by everyone in the shop at some point. We just enjoy the process of turning raw material into something useful that people can actually use in their homes.
