Chauhan Hardware Stores is situated in Nehru Place at Main Market 3. Most people think of this area as a place for computers and electronics, but we deal with the more traditional stuff. Our shelves are packed with hinges, locks, tools, and all sorts of metal fittings. It’s a very busy market, so there’s always a crowd outside the door and people asking for prices. The shop is small and we have to stack things high to make them all fit. We spend a lot of time climbing ladders to get boxes down for customers. It’s a bit chaotic at times, especially when the market is in full swing during the middle of the day. We don't have much room for a proper office, so the desk is usually buried under catalogs and loose hardware pieces. The lights are bright and the noise from the street never really stops. We’ve been part of the Nehru Place scene for a long time, watching the buildings change around us. We just focus on keeping the bins full of screws and making sure we can find what people need in the middle of all the stock. It’s a basic way of doing business, just selling hardware to anyone who walks through the market and needs a specific tool for their home project.
