Burhani Kirana Stores

The shop is located at Plot 110, right at Subhash Chowk on M.G Road. We have been around here for quite a while now. Most people know us because we are so close to Ghantaghar. It gets pretty dusty inside because of all the traffic passing by outside, but we try to keep things in order. People mostly come in for their daily pulses, soaps, and tea leaves. We keep the items stacked up high on the wooden shelves. Sometimes it is a bit hard to find a specific biscuit packet in the back, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. It isn't a fancy place with air conditioning or bright lights. We just have a regular counter and a ceiling fan that makes a clicking noise in the afternoon heat. We see the same faces every single day. Neighborhood kids often stop by for a piece of candy after their school lets out. Usually, there is someone asking for change or looking for a specific brand of cooking oil that we might have run out of the day before. It is just how things go in a small store. We open up early when the milk crates arrive at the door. Usually, the iron shutters are up by seven in the morning. It is a lot of physical work lifting heavy sacks. My hands stay rough from handling the jute bags and sorting through coins all day.
