Bansal Departmental Store

Ramprastha City Center Market is always a bit noisy, especially around shop number 130 where we are. Bansal Departmental Store is where we spend most of our day, from early morning until the lights go out at night. It’s a lot of unpacking boxes and putting jars on shelves. We carry the usual things people need for their kitchens, like pulses, soaps, and those little snacks kids like. It’s not a huge place, but we pack a lot in. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and we have to wait around. Our regulars know us by name and we know which brand of tea they prefer. It’s a neighborhood thing. The market gets quite crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work. We try to keep the floor clean but with so many feet coming in, it’s a constant job. If you are looking for 130 in the City Center, just look for the place with the most crates outside. We don’t have fancy displays, just the items stacked so people can see what’s available. Sometimes we run out of bread or milk early, and that’s just how it goes. We do our best to keep the basics ready for the families living around here. It’s just a regular shop run by regular people who live and work in the same community. We just want to get the day done right.
