Arihant Store

Located at Shop No-122 on the Main Road in Vaishali Sector 4. It’s right near the Shop Prix Mall, so there is always a lot of traffic and people passing by. Ghaziabad is always noisy, and we hear it all day long from behind the counter. The shop is packed with bags of flour and sugar. We spend a lot of time shifting heavy sacks around. It is hard work on the back and my joints ache sometimes. My hands are usually a bit dusty from the grain. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that rattles when it’s on high. Customers come in looking for something specific, and usually, we can find it in the back corner if we look hard enough. We keep a ledger for the regulars who pay at the end of the month. Sometimes people just stop by to chat about the weather or the traffic on the main road. The mall nearby brings a lot of people to this area, but we mostly see the locals who live in the flats. The shelves are old wood and they creak sometimes. We have to be careful how much we pile on them. Every morning is the same routine. Roll up the heavy shutter, sweep the front, and check the fridge. It is just a way to make a living. We don't try to be anything else. Just a shop where you get your stuff.
