Archana South & Store

Archana South & Store is my little shop at E-45 in Lajpat Nagar, Sahibabad. Specifically, it’s Shop Number 4. Ghaziabad is a very busy city and this part of Lajpat Nagar is always full of movement. We sell a lot of different things that people need for their daily meals. The name mentions "South" because we used to focus more on items from southern India, but now we have a bit of everything to suit everyone. The shop is quite narrow, so I have to be careful how I stack the boxes. I’m always worried that if I pull one thing out, the whole pile might come down. The street outside is usually crowded with people and scooters. We open the shutters early because the morning is when people want their milk and bread before heading to the office. I usually sit in the back with a cup of tea until the first customer arrives. The light inside is a bit dim, but we know exactly where every item is kept. We have been in this spot for a long time and the faces we see are mostly familiar. Sometimes I run out of small coins and have to ask the neighbor for some change. It is just a basic neighborhood store at E-45. We aren't trying to be fancy. We just want to make sure the local families have a place to get their groceries without traveling too far.
