Action Centre For Social Empowerment Foundation

We are at the Action Centre For Social Empowerment Foundation, located out in Village Mehrauli. This is part of Ghaziabad, but it feels a bit different than the main city center. It is more of a village atmosphere here in 201010. The roads can be a bit bumpy sometimes, especially when it rains. We have our setup right in the middle of things where we can see the daily life of the village unfolding around us. Ghaziabad is growing fast, but Mehrauli still has that local touch. Our office isn't anything special to look at from the outside. It is just a functional space where we keep our records and meet with people from the area. We have a few desks and some old fans that keep the air moving during the summer months. People from the village often stop by just to say hello or ask a question. We don’t have a big staff, so it’s usually just a couple of us handling everything. The work keeps us on our toes. Being in Uttar Pradesh means the weather is either very hot or a bit chilly in the winter. We just adjust to it and keep the doors open. It’s a very grounded way to work. There are no high-rise views here, just the local houses and the sound of the community outside our window most of the day.
