Nawal Fly Ash Bricks

Our place is located out in Village Naudhariya, which is part of the Manpur Tehsil. It is a bit of a drive to get out here, but this is where we have the space for making the fly ash bricks. The yard is usually full of grey dust and the sound of the machines running. We started this because there was a need for building materials around the district. It is not an easy job because the weather really affects how we work. If it rains too much, everything gets muddy and we have to wait it out. The guys who work here are mostly from the nearby villages and we have all become like a small family over the years. We take our breaks under the shade of the big trees when the sun is too much. You won't find anything fancy here, just a lot of bricks stacked up ready to be loaded onto trucks. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we have to wait around in the evening to get them filled. That is just the way it goes with this kind of work. We try to keep things honest and just do what needs to be done every day. Most of our neighbors in the village know us well. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when the mixing machines are going full blast in the afternoon.
