Bharati Vidyapith is out in Konch, which is a bit of a distance into the Gaya district. It’s a rural area, so the school is quite a central point for the families living around here. The building is quite simple, mostly just concrete and paint that has faded under the sun. We don't have a lot of the things that schools in the big cities have. There’s no big gate with a security guard, just a simple entrance that stays open during the day. The classrooms are filled with kids who often come from long distances, some walking quite a way to get here. It’s a very practical sort of place. We focus on teaching the basic subjects and helping them get through their exams. The teachers are mostly people from the nearby villages or Gaya town who travel out here every day. In the summer, it gets very hot, and we just have the ceiling fans to keep things moving. The ground around the school is mostly dirt, which turns to mud when it rains, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We don't have a big website or a marketing team. To be honest, most people find us just by word of mouth in the village. It’s a quiet life in Konch, and the school is just part of that rhythm. We do our work, the kids learn what they can, and everyone goes home when the sun starts to go down.
