Meena Wool Store

If you’re walking through Indira Market in Sector 27, you’ll probably see us tucked away in our little corner. Meena Wool Store has been our life for a long time now, and the place is usually packed floor to ceiling with yarn and knitting supplies. It’s not the most organized shop in the world, and sometimes you have to move a bag of wool just to find a place to stand. We get a lot of older ladies coming in to chat while they pick out colors for a sweater they’re making for a grandkid. It’s nice to hear their stories, even when the shop gets crowded and it’s hard to move around. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the doors in the morning and wait to see who stops by. The lighting in Indira Market isn't always the best, so we often have to take the wool out to the front just to see the true color in the sunlight. We’ve got bags and needles and all sorts of bits and pieces scattered around. It feels like home to us, even with the dust and the cramped shelves that always seem to be overflowing. We just like being part of the market and seeing the same faces year after year. It’s a simple business, mostly just us helping people find the right shade of blue or a soft enough yarn for a baby blanket they are knitting.
