Sankalan Art Gallery

We are over here in Sector 61, right at building 343. It’s a quiet enough spot most days, tucked away from the main noise. The sun hits the front window in a certain way in the afternoons, which makes the paintings look different than they do in the morning. We spend a lot of time moving things around to make room for new stuff that comes in. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough wall space for everything we want to show. There’s usually a bit of dust on the frames if we haven't wiped them down since yesterday, but that’s just how it goes with an old building like this one. People come in from the neighborhood just to walk around when they have a few minutes. It isn't a huge place, just a few rooms filled with different colors and frames. We keep the lights on even when it's slow. The floorboards sometimes creak when you walk near the back corner where the bigger canvases are kept on the floor. It stays pretty cool inside even when it is hot out on the street. We don’t have any fancy music playing, usually just the sound of traffic from outside or someone talking as they pass by. It’s just a place to see some art without any fuss. Most of the time we are just sitting here waiting for the next delivery or chatting with someone who stopped in to avoid the rain. It's been in this spot for a while and we know the rhythms of the street well.
