Our office is right by the toll plaza in Sikola Bhata, at Manoj Rajput’s place. Being near the toll means there is a constant hum of engines and the smell of exhaust in the air. It’s a busy place to be, but it’s where we do our work. We are builders and developers, which means we spend our time thinking about how to turn a patch of ground into something useful. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just get the materials together and start building. Most of the time, we are dealing with local workers and making sure everyone has what they need to get the job done. The heat can be pretty bad out here near the road, so we drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade when we can. We’ve got plenty of experience with the local soil and what it takes to build a foundation that won't crack. It’s not the kind of work you do if you want to stay clean. There is always sand in your shoes and cement dust on your hat. We like being right here where the action is, near the main road. It makes it easy for folks to find us if they have a question about a project. We just take it one day at a time and try to finish what we started before the next one begins.
