D Kumar Float Glass Co.

D Kumar Float Glass Co. is located at I-18 Sector 9. It’s a pretty standard industrial-style plot, and we’ve been here for quite a while now. The space is mostly filled with large sheets of glass leaning against the walls on heavy wooden frames. You have to be careful where you walk because there’s always a bit of glass dust or small offcuts on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. It’s not a fancy place to sit and have a meeting. We usually just talk to people standing up in the middle of the workspace or near the main loading bay. The sounds of cutting and grinding are pretty much the soundtrack to our day. Sector 9 is a busy area with a lot of similar businesses, so there’s always a hum of activity from the neighbors. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. If the shutter is up, it means we are working. Usually, we are covered in a bit of grit by the end of the shift. The office is just a small corner partitioned off with some plywood where we keep the invoices and the phone. It’s a bit cramped and the chairs aren't the most comfortable, but it serves its purpose. We don’t spend much time worrying about the decor; we just focus on getting the glass cut and moved out to the trucks on time.
