We are located in Chaitanya Nagar, right off Aska Road. Omsri Bishnupriya Dal And Oil Mill is a place where you’ll always find the smell of pressed seeds and pulses. It’s a very distinct scent that hangs in the air all day. The machinery we use for the oil and the dal is quite old, but we keep it in good shape. It makes a rhythmic thumping sound that we’ve grown to love. The space isn't very large, so things are packed in pretty tight. We have bags of raw materials stacked up to the ceiling in some parts. It can be a bit dark inside the mill, but we know where everything is. We start work early to avoid the worst of the midday heat. Chaitanya Nagar can get pretty busy, and the traffic on Aska Road is always moving. We don’t have a fancy storefront. Mostly, it’s just the mill and a small area to weigh things. Our clothes usually end up with a bit of oil or dust on them by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to be a big corporation. We just focus on running the machines and getting the dal and oil ready. It’s a simple, honest life. We talk to the neighbors and the local shops who come to us. It’s more about the day-to-day work than anything else. We’ve been here for a while and plan to stay.
