Aanjaneya Rice Mill

Aanjaneya Rice Mill is located out in Hinjlicut, within the Ganjam district. It is a quiet enough place compared to the big cities, but the mill itself stays pretty busy. We’ve got the equipment set up here to handle the local harvest. Working in Hinjlicut means we are close to where the crops are, which makes things a bit easier for everyone involved. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a functional space for processing rice. We start early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. There’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving sacks around, so it keeps us on our toes. In Ganjam, everyone kind of knows each other, so we see a lot of familiar faces coming through the gates. We don’t have a big office or a reception area; usually, if someone needs us, they just walk into the main shed and find one of us. The floors are often covered in a fine layer of dust from the milling process, and the sound of the engines is something you just stop hearing after a while. It’s a simple life out here. We just focus on the grain and making sure the mill stays in working order. There aren't many frills to what we do, but it’s work that keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We like the way the community works together. The rainy season often makes the road here a bit muddy, but we manage to keep the mill running as usual.
