You can find us at Survey No 426, right near the Solanki Pura Railway Crossing in Dehgam. The sound of the trains passing by is something we’ve gotten used to over the years. Whenever the crossing gates go down, a lot of traffic builds up right outside our doors. It’s a dusty spot because of all the vehicles waiting for the trains to clear. We spend a lot of time in the back where we keep the beverages stored. It’s a practical setup, nothing too fancy, just enough space to keep the crates and the cooling equipment. The floor is often covered in a bit of grit from the road, so we are always sweeping it out. We handle a lot of deliveries, and the timing often depends on when the trains are running. If the gates are closed, we just have to wait. It’s a small team here, just a few of us doing the heavy lifting and keeping track of the stock. Dehgam is a busy place, and being near the crossing means we are always in the middle of the noise. We keep the fridge stocked and the bottles ready for the local shops that buy from us. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot, but we just keep at it. There’s a certain rhythm to the trains and the traffic that defines our workday here. It is just a normal daily routine for us.
