This office is on the first floor of the old WHO office building, which is inside the Civil Hospital campus in Sector 12, Gandhinagar. We are working on the Micronutrient Initiative Project for the Gujarat Government. It’s a very specific kind of work, mostly focusing on health and nutrition for the local people. Being located in the hospital area means there are always doctors and patients around, so it never feels quiet. Our day-to-day involves a lot of consulting and looking over health data. We have stacks of reports and files about different projects we are trying to implement. It’s not a fancy corporate office with modern furniture; it’s a government space that’s been used for a long time. We have a few consultants here who know a lot about micronutrients and how to get them to the people who need them. Gandhinagar is a well-planned city, and Sector 12 is pretty central for us. We don’t spend money on advertising or making ourselves look important. We just focus on the project goals and try to make sure the health initiatives are actually moving forward. Sometimes the bureaucracy makes things move a little slow, but that’s just how it goes with government work. We come in, do our hours, and try to contribute something useful to the public health system here. It is just about getting the right nutrients to the right people.
