Shree Mahalaxmi Transport Co is tucked away at Plot No. 35 in Sector 8 of Gandhidham. We are right near the B. M. Petrol Pump, which is lucky because our trucks are always needing fuel. Being in Kachchh, the weather can be a bit harsh sometimes, but we just keep going. The yard is usually full of activity, especially early in the day when everyone is trying to get their loads ready. We don't have a fancy lobby with air conditioning. Usually, the door is propped open to catch whatever breeze we can get. Our desks are covered in bills of lading and old coffee mugs. It’s a real working environment, not something out of a magazine. People in Gandhidham know us as the place that just handles things without a lot of fuss. We’ve had the same phone number for ages and the same group of people working the phones and the docks. We don't bother with marketing or trying to sound better than we are. If the trucks are moving and the customers aren't complaining, then we’re doing alright. Some days the dust from the yard gets everywhere, and we just have to live with it. It’s just a simple transport business run by people who live right here in the community. We don't need any more than that to stay busy and keep things moving along.
