Okhawala Logistics

You can find us at Arun Complex, specifically unit number 10, which is right near the State Bus Depot in Gandhidham-Kachchh. Being so close to the bus depot means there is a lot of noise and exhaust fumes all the time, but it’s a good spot for a logistics company. Okhawala Logistics is basically just a room with a few desks, a big map on the wall, and a lot of clipboards. We spend the whole day on the phone with drivers or trying to figure out where a certain truck has stopped. There is always a layer of dust on everything because of the dry air in Kachchh and the construction work nearby. We drink a lot of strong tea to keep going through the long shifts. The floor is made of old tiles that are chipped in the corners, and the chairs squeak every time you move. We aren't here to look pretty; we are here to make sure things move from one place to another without too much trouble. Sometimes a driver will walk in covered in road dust and we have to sort out his paperwork right there. It’s a hectic life, and the clock is always ticking. We don't really have a set closing time because the trucks are always on the road, but we try to head home when the relief person shows up and we finish the last log.
