We operate out of Shop No. 20 and 21 in Mohan Market. It’s located on Plot 58 in Sector 9, right by the N H Way in Gandhidham-kachchh. Having two shops knocked together gives us a bit more room for the desks and the people who come in to talk about loads. The market is always crowded with drivers and loaders. You can hear the engines idling outside most of the day. It’s a gritty kind of place, but it’s where the work happens. We spend a lot of time on the phone, tracking where things are and making sure the trucks are moving. The walls are covered with calendars and some old maps that have seen better days. The floor gets dirty pretty fast with everyone walking in from the dusty road, but we sweep it out when we can. Sector 9 is a hub for this kind of thing, so we are in the right spot. It’s not the kind of office you’d see in a movie. It’s just a workspace with a lot of papers and empty tea cups. We’ve been at this for a while and the routine is pretty much the same every day. We wait for the morning rush to settle, then deal with the midday heat. Kachchh weather is tough, but we are used to it. We just focus on getting the freight moved from one point to another.
