Our office is over in Chandan Chamber, specifically units 11 to 14. We’re located on Plot No. 18, right along the National Highway. It’s easy to miss if you’re driving too fast, but we’re tucked just behind Hotel Chandan in the Gandhidham-Kachchh area. Being so close to the highway means Harsiddha Transport Co is always seeing trucks and drivers coming and going. The dust from the road gets everywhere, no matter how much we clean. Inside the office, it’s mostly just desks, stacks of logbooks, and a phone that doesn't seem to stop ringing. We spend a lot of time tracking where things are and talking to the drivers over the radio or their phones. It gets pretty hectic during the peak seasons when everyone wants their goods moved at the exact same time. The weather in Gandhidham can be really dry and tough, so we keep a lot of water and tea on hand for anyone who stops in. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We’re just a local group trying to make sure things get from one point to another without too much trouble. Sometimes things get delayed or a truck breaks down, and then we have to scramble to fix it. It’s just the nature of the transport business. We stay until the last manifest is signed and the drivers are settled for the night.
