Buxar Jeevika Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited

Our office is located right near the Rajkiya Buniyadi School in Mahatma Gandhi Nagar. It is very close to the Station Road here in Buxar. This is a company run by the women farmers through the Jeevika program. We are not professional writers or big business executives. We are just local women who decided to pool our resources together to make things better. Most of our days are spent talking about crops, seeds, and how to get a better price at the local market. It is a noisy place sometimes because there are always people coming in and out of the office near the school. We do not have a lot of extra money for decorations or fancy furniture. We just have some desks and a lot of registers to keep track of everyone’s produce and payments. It is a bit of a challenge balancing the farm work with the company paperwork, but we manage to get it done. We are not trying to be the biggest company in India or anything. We just want to make sure the ladies in our group can take care of their families and have a little bit of independence. It is honest, hard work every single day. Sometimes the trains going by the station road are so loud we have to stop talking for a minute. We just laugh and keep going with our work.
