Raita Rakshak Farmers Producer Company Limited is set up at No. 253 in Rani Channamma Nagar. We are right off Gadag Road, which is a pretty convenient spot for the farmers coming in from the outskirts. The name Raita Rakshak means a lot to us because it’s about looking out for the people who work the soil. We aren't a big corporation with thousands of employees. We are just a group of people from the local area who decided it was better to work together than to try and survive separately. Our office is usually full of maps and lists of what everyone is growing this year. We talk a lot about the price of fertilizers and how the weather is looking. It’s not always easy, and there are many days where we just sit and worry about the lack of rain or the price drops. But having this office here gives everyone a place to meet and share their troubles. We keep things very simple. There’s no dress code or anything like that. You’ll mostly find us in our regular clothes, drinking coffee and trying to sort out the paperwork for the next batch of seeds. It’s honest work and we do our best to keep everything organized for the members. We’ve been here a while and plan to stay. Our doors are open to any of the local farmers who want to stop by for a chat or to see what we are doing this week. It’s a good community here.
