Jnanasindhu Residential School

Running a residential school in a place like Hole Alur is a lot of work, but we’ve been doing it at Jnanasindhu for a while now. We are located in the Ron area of Gadag, which is a bit quieter than the big cities, and that suits us just fine. Since it’s a residential setup, the students live here with us, so we see them all the time, not just during class hours. The building is sturdy and does the job. We have dorms where the kids sleep and a kitchen that stays busy making meals for everyone throughout the week. It’s a bit like a big house with way too many children in it. The staff stays on-site mostly, so there is always someone around if a student needs something in the middle of the night. We follow a pretty strict timetable because without one, everything would probably fall apart. The grounds around the school have some space for the kids to walk or play some sports when the weather is nice. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have enough books and desks. People in the Gadag district know us as a place that just gets on with the job of educating. It’s a simple life here, focused on the books and the daily chores. We don't really have a big office or anything, just a few rooms where we handle the paperwork and talk to the parents.
