We are located in the Marble Market on Ferozpur Road, right in the Ichhra area of Lahore. Ghakhar Tiles Factory is a place where we get our hands dirty every single day. The Marble Market is always loud and full of dust, and we are right in the middle of it. We make tiles for all sorts of buildings around the city. I’ve been working here for a long time, and I’ve seen the city grow and change from this very spot. It’s not an easy job; the machines are old and sometimes they break down right when we have a big order to finish. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find me in my work clothes, covered in a bit of cement dust. We just show people what we have available on the floor. Lahore is a hot place, so we start early in the morning to get the heavy work done before the sun gets too high. We don't use any slick advertising. Most people know us because their fathers or uncles bought tiles from us years ago. We just keep doing what we know how to do. The quality of the tiles is what matters most to the people who buy them. It’s a basic factory, but we take pride in the stuff we produce for the local houses and businesses in our community.
