Bharat Marble

We have been at Satiye Wala Chowk for a good while now. Most folks on Zira Road know where the shop is because of all the white dust around the front gate. It gets a bit messy when we are cutting slabs, but that is just how the stone business goes. Bharat Marble started small. My father used to handle everything himself, but now we have a couple of guys to help with the heavy lifting. We spend most of our mornings just moving things around so people can see the different patterns. Marble is not like other stuff; you have to see the whole piece or you will not know what you are getting. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we are stuck here until dark loading them up for a delivery. It is hard work on the back, but seeing a house finished with our stone makes it feel alright. We do not have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It is just the yard and the office where we keep the books. People come in, walk around the stacks, and we talk about what might look good in a kitchen or a bathroom. We try to keep things simple here. No big speeches or sales talk. If you like a stone, you take it. If not, maybe we find something else in the back. That is pretty much how we run things day to day on Zira Road.
