Archies Gift World

If you are looking for us, we are right opposite the telephone exchange in the gali of Raniwala Market. Ganj Bazar is always a bit of a maze, but once you find that telephone exchange landmark, you’re basically there. Archies Gift World has been in this little spot for quite a while now. It’s a narrow lane, so it stays a bit cooler in the summer than the main road. We sell the usual things like greeting cards, photo frames, and little trinkets. The shop isn't huge, so we have to use every inch of wall space to hang things up. I spend a lot of time reorganizing the shelves because things get moved around by shoppers all day. We get a lot of students coming in looking for cards for their friends. It’s a bit messy behind the counter with all the packing paper and bubble wrap, but we know where everything is. The telephone exchange across the way is a good marker for people who haven't been here before. We don't really do big advertisements or anything. Most people just stumble upon us while they’re walking through Ganj Bazar or they’ve heard about us from a neighbor. It’s a simple life running a gift shop. You get to see people at their happiest, picking out things for celebrations. We stay open pretty late, especially during the festival season when the whole market is buzzing with people. It is a good place to be.
