Anant Engineering Works

You can find us on Bassi Road. It is a straightforward kind of place. We are an engineering workshop, so expect to see a lot of metal scraps and heavy tools lying around. The building itself is older, with high ceilings and plenty of dust. We don't spend much time cleaning up for appearances; we are more concerned with the work on the benches. There is always the sound of grinding or hammering going on throughout the day. We wear our work clothes until they are covered in oil and dirt. The air usually smells like hot metal. Our team is small, mostly guys who have lived in this area for a long time. We know the neighbors and the other shop owners on the road. Sometimes we sit outside on old stools during our breaks to watch the trucks go by. It’s not a quiet street. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. If you walk in, you’ll probably just see someone hunched over a machine. We handle a variety of engineering tasks, some simple and some that take a bit more thought. We use machines that have been with us for years because they still get the job done the way we need. It’s a very manual way of living. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay productive until it’s time to lock up and head home for the evening. It’s a lot of physical labor.
