Government Senior Secondary School

Government Senior Secondary School is situated in Arryan Wala, which is part of the Faridkot area. This school is where most of the older kids from the village and nearby spots come to finish their higher studies. It is a government building, so it looks like most other public schools you might see in Punjab. We have a good amount of space, but it's not always the quietest place because there are so many students. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the classrooms are functional and that is what matters most. We follow the standard schedule every day, starting early in the morning. You will see teachers walking across the courtyard with piles of notebooks to grade. The kids here are mostly from farming families and they work hard. During the winter, it gets quite cold in the rooms, so everyone wears heavy sweaters. We have some trees in the yard where students sit during their free time. It’s a busy place with a lot of movement. We don’t have fancy equipment, just the basic stuff needed for lessons. Life here is pretty straightforward and we just focus on getting through the curriculum each term. It is a big part of the community in Arryan Wala. People know the gate well and we are just here doing the daily work of running a school for the local youth.
