Our shop, Walter, is down at 2A/22 Baba Nagar in the NIT area. It’s a quiet enough street compared to some of the main roads, but we still get our share of foot traffic. We deal with various tools and equipment. The building itself is older, with some cracks in the plaster that we’ve painted over a few times. We have a lot of shelves filled with different sizes of cutters and bits. It’s easy to get lost in the inventory if you aren't careful. I usually spend the first hour of the morning just organizing what came in the day before. We don't have a big team, so everyone does a bit of everything, from answering the door to cleaning the floor. There is a small window in the back that lets in a little breeze, which is nice when the weather is clear. We have a calendar on the wall from three years ago that we still use just to write notes on the back of the pages. It’s those little things that make the place feel like ours. Sometimes customers come in and stay for a chat about the local news. We don't mind. It makes the day go by faster. The work is mostly repetitive, but there's a certain comfort in knowing exactly where everything is and what needs to be done next. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
