Vijay Tent House

You can find Vijay Tent House at Shop No 436 in the Lajpat Rai Market. It’s a pretty intense place to work because the market is always packed with people and goods moving everywhere. Our shop is mostly used to store all the gear we need for events. We have heavy iron poles, stacks of folded chairs, and huge bundles of colorful fabric for making tents and backdrops. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, and my back usually feels it by the end of the day. We don't have a showroom where things are displayed nicely; it’s more of a storage space where we organize the equipment before it goes out to a job. Most of our work happens away from the shop, setting up for weddings, religious functions, or neighborhood parties. We have a crew of guys who do the actual assembly while I handle the bookings in my old notebook. It’s a noisy environment with the market sounds all around us. Sometimes we’re cleaning the fabrics or fixing a broken chair leg right there on the sidewalk. We don't have a corporate office or a sales team. People just come to the shop because they’ve heard about us or they see our name on the side of our transport. It’s a tough business with long hours, especially during the wedding season, but we just keep at it day after day.
