Sector 24 isn't the quietest place to work, but it suits us just fine. We are at number 327, which is basically a big hall filled with machines and boxes of parts. Vee Gee Precision Components has been our life for a long time. Every day starts with checking the schedule and making sure the raw materials are ready. We make small pieces that go into bigger things, so everything has to be measured properly. It’s repetitive work, honestly. You stand by the machine, you check the part, you move to the next one. But there’s a kind of satisfaction in seeing a finished pile of components at the end of the shift. The lighting in the shop isn't great, but we know our way around. There’s a small room in the back where we keep the finished stock and try to keep the dust off it. Sometimes the neighbors come by to borrow a tool or just to chat about the local traffic. It’s a decent enough spot. We don't have a lot of meetings or big talks. We just focus on the drawings and the metal. When the sun starts going down, we clean up the workstations, lock the heavy doors, and head home. It’s just a regular workshop where we try to do a solid day's work without making a big fuss about it. We’ve seen other shops come and go, but we just keep doing what we do.
