Vashisht Engineering Works

We have our workshop at E-254 on Air Force Road. It is located in Gali No.-7 within Dabua Colony, which is part of the N.I.T. area. The shop is tucked away in one of the smaller lanes, so it can be a little hard to find the first time you visit. We do engineering work here, mostly focusing on metal parts and various repairs that local factories need. The floor is almost always covered in metal shavings and there is a faint smell of machine oil in the air. It is a loud place when the lathes and welding machines are going at the same time. During the summer, the heat under the tin roof can be quite intense, so we keep several big fans blowing all day. Most of the guys working here live right in the colony, so they just walk over in the morning. We do not have a formal office space; it is just a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. We take on whatever work comes through the door, from small fixes to larger batches of parts. It is a hands-on environment where everyone gets their hands dirty. We have a small area outside where we sit for a bit during our breaks to get some fresh air. It is just a basic, practical engineering shop where we focus on finishing the jobs.
