You can find The Lalit Suri Hospitality School out on Pali Road, not too far from Badkhal Lake. It’s a bit of a quieter area compared to the middle of the city, which is nice for a place where people are trying to learn a trade. We focus on teaching the practical side of working in hotels and restaurants. The building has kitchens, mock rooms, and classrooms where students spend most of their day. It’s not just sitting at a desk; there’s a lot of standing, cooking, and cleaning involved. The staff here have mostly worked in the industry themselves, so they know what the actual work is like. We don't spend much time on theories that don't help in a real kitchen. The students come from different backgrounds, and some of them stay nearby in hostels. The walk up from the main road can be a bit long if you’re on foot, but it’s a good spot once you’re there. We deal with the usual issues, like equipment breaking down or supplies being late, but we just fix it and keep going. The atmosphere is professional but not stiff. We want the students to understand that hospitality is hard work and requires a lot of patience. People visit us from time to time to see how the training works, and we just show them the reality of it without any extra polish.
