Tamwar Misthan Bhandar

We are out on the Palwal Mindkola Road, right in Swamika Hathin. This shop has been in the family for a long time. We make sweets and snacks every day starting very early. The kitchen is always hot, especially in the summer months when the sun is beating down on the road outside. We use the same old recipes that have been around since my grandfather’s time. Nothing is fancy here. The floors are made of stone and the counters are just glass and wood. We spend a lot of time stirring big pots of milk until it thickens. It’s hard work and our arms get really tired by the end of the day. People from the village come in for their morning snacks or to get something sweet for a wedding or a celebration. We see a lot of the same people every morning. Sometimes we run out of the popular stuff early and people get a bit annoyed, but we can only make so much at once with our small stove. The road out front is often dusty with all the big trucks going by. We try to keep the dust out, but it’s a constant battle with the broom. We don't have a website or anything like that. Just the shop and the old sign outside. If you’re driving down toward Hathin, you can’t miss us. It’s just what we do. Making sweets, cleaning up, and doing it all again tomorrow. It’s a steady life and we like the community here.
