Mathura Road is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it at 16/2. Stead Fast Engineers is where we spend most of our waking hours. The building isn't brand new, but it holds up well against the weather and the noise from the main road. Inside, it smells like oil and metal, which is pretty standard for what we do. We have a few desks and some heavy equipment that’s seen better days but still runs perfectly. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't need to say much to get through the day's tasks. It’s loud sometimes, especially when the big machines are going. Lunch is usually eaten quick so we can get back to whatever project is sitting on the floor. We aren't the type to have meetings in glass rooms. Instead, we talk over the noise or wait for the machines to stop for a minute. The parking outside is a bit tight, especially on Monday mornings. If you come by, you’ll probably see a few trucks loading up or someone leaning against the gate for a quick break. We do the work as it comes in. It’s straightforward engineering, really. We keep the floor as clean as possible, but it’s a losing battle with the grease and the dust. That's just how it goes at an industrial site like this one. We just keep our heads down and get through the work.
