Spice Packaging

Spice Packaging is over at 150 A in the Hsidc area, specifically Sector 59. This part of town is all factories and warehouses, so we fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood. Our building is pretty standard for this area—concrete walls and a big metal door for loading. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of packaging material and the sound of tape dispensers. We spend a lot of time counting stock and making sure the labels are right. It’s not the most glamorous job, but someone has to do it. The heat in Sector 59 can be pretty intense in May, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the morning. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the drivers who come through this gate. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just try to make sure we don't run out of supplies and that everyone gets paid on Friday. It’s a small team, and we all pitch in wherever we’re needed. If the floor needs sweeping, I’ll do it, or the supervisor will. We don't worry much about titles. We just want to keep the machines running and ensure the customers come back next time they need boxes. It’s a straightforward business and we keep it that way. We just stay here doing our thing day after day.
