Laxmi Engineering Works

If you go down Badkhal Road and head toward Sharma Chowk, you’ll find us at E- 8 in S.G.M. Nagar. Laxmi Engineering Works is a bit of a local fixture in this neighborhood. We aren't tucked away in some high-rise; we’re right here on the ground where everything happens. The workshop is always a bit cluttered with half-finished projects and scraps of metal, which is just the way an engineering shop should look. We do a lot of welding and fixing things that people bring in from the surrounding area. The sounds of grinding and sparks flying are pretty common throughout the day. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. It’s a small operation, really. Most of our regulars are people we’ve known for years, folks who live just a few streets away. We like the fact that we can walk out the door and be at the local tea shop in two minutes. The building itself is older, and the sign has seen better days, but the equipment inside works just fine. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just show up, do the work, and close the doors when the sun goes down. It’s honest work that keeps us busy and part of the community here near the chowk.
