Kirit Garments

Our place is on Street Number 111 in Sehatpur. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot, but we like it because it stays a little quieter than the main roads. We do a lot of garment work here, so if you walk in, you’ll mostly see sewing machines and piles of cut fabric waiting to be put together. It’s a small operation with just a handful of us working at the tables. We don’t have a big showroom or anything like that; we just focus on getting the sewing done. The lighting isn't always the best, but we make it work. Most days are spent sitting at the machines and listening to the radio while we work. We’ve lived and worked in Sehatpur for a long time, so we’re used to the way things go around here. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to take a break, but we usually just use that time to grab a snack. We aren't trying to be some big fashion house; we just make clothes that people can actually wear. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that feels good. We keep the scrap fabric in bins and try to keep the floor swept, though the thread gets everywhere no matter what we do. We just keep our heads down and finish the orders.
