Khanna Engineering Industries

Down here at 3D/90 in the N.I.T. area, things stay pretty busy for us at Khanna Engineering Industries. The neighborhood is mostly industrial, so there is always the sound of machinery or trucks moving nearby. Our place is full of metal parts, tools, and the smell of cutting oil. It’s not the cleanest environment, but that’s just how engineering shops are. We’ve got a few machines that have been running for years, and they still do the job just fine. A couple of us work here daily, mostly focusing on getting the dimensions right for the parts people order from us. Some days it feels like we are just fighting with the electricity or waiting for materials to arrive, but that is part of the life. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you walk in, you’ll probably find someone with grease on their hands near a lathe. We started out small and stayed that way because it lets us keep an eye on everything ourselves. N.I.T. is a good place to be for this kind of work because everyone around here is doing something similar. If someone needs a specific part made or a repair done, they just drop by the gate. We take our time with the work to make sure it’s done the way it was asked for. It’s a humble shed but it serves us well for what we need to do. We usually close up when the sun goes down.
